“A goodly heritage and a community of hope” are the marks of St.
Francis Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach, Virginia. We welcome all
who wish to become members of this community of Christians who have been
living out the Catholic and Apostolic Faith from the inception of this
parish in 1964. As Episcopalians we are the inheritors of a long and
glorious tradition that dates back to the Celtics, Saxons and Roman
Christians of the British Isles. Thus, life in the Parish draws upon the
best in Anglican Spirituality where a balance between worship, work and
play is reflected in our common life. Even as we celebrate our
glorious Anglican heritage we lift up a very contemporary understanding of
community and love, by embracing an array of cultural, racial and ethnic
identities. Jesus is both loved and adored, not only in Word and
Sacrament, but also in purposeful acts of his people. It is a
glorious and exciting adventure that we are about here at St. Francis and
one, which we invite all to share in.
